Ingredients
  • 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • seeds of 2 vanilla beans
  • 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
  • For the Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter, softened
  • 4.5 cups of powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract (or seeds from 1 vanilla bean)
  • 3 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
  • pinch of salt (OPTIONAL)
Instructions
